Hello, these two medications are used to control many health problems. Metoprolol is a beta-blocker, it works by decreasing the frequency of your heartbeat. Norvasc (amlodipine) blocks a transporter called a calcium channel in your circulatory system and causes the blood vessel to dilate (widen). Both products will generally lower your blood pressure.
