Yesterday I started having vaginal bruising and itching. I took Miconazole last night and today I am bleeding. Is this normal?

Hello Ma'am,
If you were not scheduled to have your period, it is possible (but very rare) that the bleeding is from irritation at the vulva. Some women actually experience an intense burning sensation when applying miconazole (it would be less worse with Canesten™ for these women).
So, do you think it's this type of reaction, or rather a period trigger?

When I put the cream on I don't have any swishing and my period is only a week away

I understand, thank you for the details.
And is the bleeding still there today? If so, do you have to wear a sanitary napkin because there is so much of it, or is it only when you wipe off that you see the blood?

Yesterday and the day before yesterday I filled a large part of a bottom protector otherwise just wiping myself

All right.
In my opinion, it is quite possible that this bleeding is associated with menstruation (the amount is just too much to be skin bleeding). Could it be that you took a birth control pill late? Or could it be that you are a little early this month in your period?
