Hello,
In general it is not recommended to take a vitamin supplement in men who are planning to conceive and are in good health. However, developing or maintaining good lifestyle habits can help. Good lifestyle habits include: eating a varied and balanced diet based on Canada's Food Guide (https://guide-alimentaire.canada.ca/fr/), engaging in regular physical activity (start gradually if new to you), avoiding regular and large amounts of alcohol, avoiding tobacco and drug use including marijuana. Alcohol, tobacco and drugs can have a negative impact on fertility in men.
Some medications can also have a decrease in male fertility. If your spouse is taking prescription medications, he or she should discuss this with their pharmacist.
Finally, according to the Public Health Agency of Canada, men wanting to conceive should consult a physician if they encounter one or more of these specific situations:
a history of surgery or injury to the testicles;
problems with premature ejaculation or erectile dysfunction;
a history of a sexually transmitted infection (STI);
