10 month old baby seems to have hard stools?

Hello ! My 10 month old baby seems to have hard stools. It seems to be very painful to have a bowel movement...she forces and cries and screams. Finally only a small amount of stool comes out. She can have a good bowel movement and then be 2-3 days or more with a small amount of stool that seems to hurt. Is there anything I can do to help her? We are doing the leg exercises! But does not seem to be beneficial Thank you!

Hello ma'am, thank you for your question! There is no set stool schedule for babies. If you think there is constipation, the first thing to do is to encourage him to drink a little more (water and milk, and give sips of water during the day too). If that doesn't work after 3 to 5 days, you could give him PEG-3350 (LAX-A-DAY, Restoralax and other brands), which is given according to your child's weight.
