4 month old boy with a cold?

28-year-old woman3 years ago
Hello, my 4 month old boy seems to have a cold for the last 10 days. He has a lot of secretions, he sometimes chokes on them. His nose is full, but I can't help him enough with the nasal solution. He is more irritable and drinks a little less than before (breastfeeding). I don't see any improvement since it started. Is there anything else I can do to help him or will this cold go away on its own? Should he see his doctor? Thank you

Hi, sorry to read about your troubles!
Nasal hygiene is the most important thing at this point. It should be used as often as necessary during the day, there is no maximum number of times per day.
You mention that the problem seems to have been present for 10 days. Most colds last 7 to 10 days. However, some congestion and discharge may remain after the episode. You should start to see a decrease in symptoms.
If not, I would recommend that you see his pediatrician.
I hope this has been helpful and I am available if you have any further questions!
