I have a sore throat, cough, severe nasal congestion and green secretions?

21-year-old womana year ago
Hello. Since December 13, I started having a sore throat, which has progressively worsened into a light cough, an important nasal congestion, with greenish secretions. I have swollen neck glands, great pressure in the sinuses, headache and toothache. I use decongestants (2x/day), in addition to doing Sinus Rinse (2-4x/day). I've had symptoms for 6 days, with no particular improvement. I have never had a fever.

Hello ma'am, I'm sorry to read about your troubles!
In order to better understand your needs, would it be possible to know if you are currently taking other medications, what products (decongestants) exactly you have tried, if you are pregnant (or trying to become pregnant) or breastfeeding, if you have any allergies or intolerances?
Have you taken a rapid test for COVID?

Daily, I take propranolol, venlafaxine, amitriptyline & accutane. I have used Avamys & Buckleys oral decongestants (the shelves in pharmacies are empty, so I didn't really have any options). I am not pregnant or nursing. No allergies either.
I test for COVID daily and am always negative.

Thank you for the information. I would like to point out that Buckley's and "Sinus" type products should be avoided as they can increase the risk of palpitations, anxiety, insomnia, and tremors, all of which are symptoms that work against your treatments.
The best treatment remains nasal hygiene with saline solution such as Hydrasense or Sinus Rinse which can be done as often as needed during the day and at least 30 minutes before bedtime. I encourage you to drink plenty of fluids, cold or hot, as you prefer.
If the situation persists for more than 7 days without improvement, you should consult a physician for a thorough evaluation of your condition, as a precaution.
I remain available if you have any further questions!
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
