Hello, my 5 year old daughter has had a cough for 2 weeks, the coughing fits are more important at bedtime and at night. It started with a wet cough following a cold. No other symptoms and general condition is very good.

Good morning, ma'am,
You mention that she has no other symptoms
Does she have a stuffy or runny nose, even a little? Have you tried anything for this problem? Is she taking any other medication?

No other medication, we only did the st-justine method nosewash last week, but now his nose is not running anymore just the cough persists

Thanks for the feedback!
I want to reassure you that the cough is often the last symptom to go away, even several weeks after recovery... The fact that the cough is more frequent at night can be explained by the sinus discharge in the back of the throat.
Continue nasal hygiene with a saline solution as often as necessary during the day, and at least 30 minutes before bedtime. This is the first-line treatment for coughs. I encourage you to give your child plenty of fluids, cold or hot, depending on his or her preference. A teaspoon of honey can also help relieve the cough.
If the symptoms persist for more than 2 weeks without improvement, you should consult a doctor.
I hope I've been helpful, I'm available if you have any other questions!
