Can my sick son take neocitran and cough syrup at the same time?

In order to answer correctly I need to know which syrup he wants to use. The problem is some syrups might contain the same ingredients (or similar) that NeoCitran contains and taking them together is a problem.

If I know with brand I'll be able to answer more accurately. Otherwise it's best to avoid combining those two products.

Thanks for clarifying. Unfortunately both products contain the same cough suppressant so they shouldn't be used at the same time. Using both would increase the risk of adverse effects.
