What if I suspect my iron supplement is causing heartburn?

Hi, I have been taking prescribed iron supplements for several years and I have started having more and more heartburn. I know that this is one of the side effects, but I wanted to know what I could do to alleviate this?

Good morning, ma'am,
What is the prescribed dose?
When do you take the iron (with food, on an empty stomach)?
Are you taking any other medications?

150 mg of iron
i take my supplements three times a week in the morning when I get up, then I eat lunch. I take birth control pills at night before going to bed and naproxen when needed (for migraine)

Thanks for the feedback.
You can try to take iron with food, taking care to avoid foods that can reduce its absorption such as coffee/tea, dairy products and eggs. We could check afterwards if this can improve your symptoms.

Thank you so much! I will try this week to have them with lunch then. Thanks ☺️

I enjoyed it, but be careful to space out the iron if you have coffee, tea or dairy products in the morning :)
