How do I calculate my next ovulation?

29-year-old woman2 years ago
Hello, I am trying to get pregnant and I have a question about ovulation. With the contraceptive pill, my 7 days period with ''flour pill'' was from Wednesday to Sunday, but I had my period only from Wednesday to Saturday and very little abundant (28 days cycle). I stopped taking it in January. In February, my period was from Wednesday the 9th to Sunday the 13th (very light from Saturday). I assumed that my ovulation would be on February 22, that is 14 days before the beginning of my next period which was supposed to be on March 9. However, from Saturday March 5 (day 25 of the cycle), I noticed a very light blood loss (Saturday, nothing on Sunday, a few drops on Monday). I thought it might be implantation bleeding. Since yesterday (Tuesday the 8th), I've had heavy bleeding. I deduce that it is my menstruation and that it is in advance. Is it normal to have had light bleeding from day 25 and I would like to know how to calculate my next ovulation period. First day of menstruation Tuesday March 8 or Saturday March 5? Ovulation March 21 or March 18?

Hello, thank you for your question!
As you may have guessed, you need to know the length of your menstrual cycle in order to have an idea of the date of ovulation. This occurs 10 to 14 days before your next period. If you stopped birth control in January, it is possible that your cycle is not really regulated yet, but if the first day of your cycle was March 8, and your cycle is 28 days long, I would say that ovulation would occur between March 21 and 25, more or less... What I can suggest is to have full intercourse at least every 2 days starting on day 10 of your cycle
The presence of light bleeding does not necessarily indicate a problem.
I hope I've been helpful and I'm available if you have any further questions!
