Hello, my doctor prescribed quetiapine seroquel 25 mg (1/2 to 1 tablet). Among the possible effects, I saw weight gain.
Does this increase my appetite or does the medication itself create weight gain? Can you tell me more?

Hello ma'am, thank you for your question!
Indeed, quetiapine can increase appetite. A good way to support this is by eating a healthy diet and doing at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise a day.
Some studies report weight gain other than through increased appetite, but the mechanism and magnitude are not fully explained.
Hopefully this has been helpful, please feel free if you have any further questions!
