Can I stop my contraceptive earlier than expected?

20-year-old woman2 years ago
Hello I am taking the indayo contraceptive pill continuously for 90 days, normally I will have my period either Friday the 22nd, Saturday the 23rd or Sunday the 24th of July. I would like to take my flour pills earlier to have my period earlier.

Thank you for your question
You can start the hormone-free period whenever you want if the following 2 conditions are met:
1- you have taken the contraceptive for at least 21 consecutive days
2- the withdrawal period does not last more than 7 days.
I would like to mention that the break period is not necessary for your health or fertility. You can take the tablet continuously for as long as you want.
Note that stopping may cause spotting or bleeding while you are taking the active tablets, but usually goes away on its own.
I hope this has been helpful to you and I am available if you have any further questions

So if I understand correctly, instead of taking my hormone pills tonight, I can take my last pills without hormones to have my period earlier? And yes, the 2 conditions you named are well respected, normally I have my period for 5 or 6 days.
Thank you for your help!

You can start the tablets without hormones, but this does not guarantee that you will have bleeding during this break. It could even happen later with the new pack. Unfortunately, this is impossible to predict.
