Vaginal burning with Canesten antifungal. Should I stop the application?

Hello Ma'am,
The application of Canesten™ cream may indeed cause a burning sensation in some women. This sensation, tends to disappear within a few minutes and is caused by the fact that the skin in the vagina or on the vulva is probably irritated by the yeast infection.
That said, if this sensation is very uncomfortable or does not go away on its own within a few minutes, it would be best to go see a doctor. If, on the contrary, it is relatively limited in intensity or duration, one can continue the application.
Note that Monistat™, the other cream that could be used in this indication, is not "less worse" in terms of burns according to the data we currently have.
