Hello,
Women can frequently experience pain during sex. The term "Dyspareunia" refers to this problem. Lack of lubrication can often be the cause, which could also explain the blood stains in the discharge following sex. Stress can affect lubrication.
There are, however, several possible causes for dyspareunia; sexually transmitted infections, abstraction of foreplay, a vaginal infection, lack of lubrication, injury, vaginismus, use of a scented or textured condom, etc. Is this your case? Is the IUD newly inserted? There is also a possibility of lower abdominal pain during sex that could suggest an infection with the IUD.
The most effective treatment is to find the cause of the pain and eliminate it. If the cause is hard to identify, a consultation with your doctor would be pertinent to identify potential causes. Also, in case there is pain when you urinate, if your discharge has a "fishy" smell, if you have had newly unprotected sex with a new partner or if you have yellow/green discharge, it is best to consult your doctor.
I hope this answers your question.
