It's hard to say exactly what the cause is, however, in the absence of other symptoms and a good general condition of your niece point to just treating the symptoms:
- Apply a fragrance-free moisturizer such as Aveeno, Glaxal Base or other brands as often as needed, such as when scratching.
- Avoid scented soaps as well, favor a fragrance-free soap like Dove for example.
- After the bath, avoid rubbing the skin to dry it, instead, lightly tap it to leave a thin layer of moisture, then apply the moisturizer quickly after getting out of the bath
Only monitor for now. If the lesions continue to appear after 3 days, if your niece starts to develop a fever or other symptoms, it is recommended to consult a doctor as a precaution.
