I have a lump in front of my ear near the jaw joint that is painful to touch. Without a family doctor, should I go to the emergency room?

Good evening ma'am,
sometimes a lymph node swells in this area in response to inflammation (viral infection in the throat or ear, for example).
Touching it frequently makes it bigger and more painful :).
If you don't have a fever, let's try not to touch it until Tuesday. If it's still as big and painful at that time, we can consider seeing a doctor.
Good evening,
Alexandre Chagnon, Pharmacist
P.S. For pain, try Advil™.

I worked as a pharmacist in the emergency department of the Granby Hospital for 6 years before dedicating myself to Ask your Pharmacist. I completed my education in telehealth at Jefferson University in Philadelphia and are recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Informatics at Université de Sherbrooke.
