Good evening, my 5 year old daughter has an eczema outbreak on her face. On the eyelids among others and around the mouth.

I apply moisturizer but it doesn't seem to get better. I know that cortisone could help but I didn't dare to apply it on her eyelids. What do you recommend? Thank you so much!

Hello,
Dermatology is not simple! If your daughter is already known to have eczema and you know how to identify the lesions, there would be no problem treating her eyelids with cortisone 0.5% 3 to 4 times a day in a thin layer until the lesions completely disappear and then maintain the skin with a non-smoking moisturizer. If you are unsure, or if the lesions are yellowish, runny or there are lesions or if the Eczema is affecting her quality of life (e.g. sleep), don't hesitate to come in for a consultation.

Great, I will try the 0.5% cortisone. Thanks so much for the quick response! :)
