Am I experiencing symptoms with my antidepressant?

24-year-old woman2 years ago
Hello, I have increased 1 day ago sertraline to 50 mg. I have night sweats, is this normal? I also have a lot of muscle that moves on its own (I don't know if this is due to anxiety, because my neck is blocked right now). Is it almost impossible to have the serotonin syndrome at 50 mg? I am afraid to continue and have this

Good morning, ma'am,
Serotonin syndrome can occur at any dose, depending on the person. It is rare, but if it does occur, it must be treated quickly. Having said that, the symptoms you describe may be caused by the medication, by anxiety, and/or by several other factors.
**If you think you are having an adverse reaction to one of your medications, you should report it to your pharmacist so that the situation can be dealt with quickly. I invite you to call or go to the pharmacy so as not to delay the consultation personalized to your needs.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist

What are the symptoms of serotonin syndrome? Do I have a fever?
Naji-tom Samaha · 2 years ago
As mentioned, the symptoms are not specific to this syndrome. Some people may have only one or more of the symptoms. The main ones are: tremors, palpitations, anxiety, fever, muscle spasms, diarrhea.
Again, if you think you are having an adverse reaction to a medication, you should report it to your pharmacist promptly so that management is not delayed. The description of these symptoms is in no way diagnostic.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, Pharmacist
