Can I cut my Trintellix tablet in half (lengthwise)?

Because my doctor prescribed 15 mg and the pharmacy gave me a box of 5 and 10 mg, which is very expensive. I wanted to know if I could take 1 1/2 co. of 10 mg instead. Thanks

Good morning, ma'am.
For several reasons, the manufacturer does not recommend cutting the tablets. Firstly, they have not yet conducted a study on the stability of the product after this action. Also, the drop shape of the product makes it quite difficult to do so, you may end up with a little more or less than half.
However, there is no special coating on the tablet, and it is cut in some cases, in practice. Also, the product has a very long effect over time (very long half-life), so that a tablet cut not exactly in half may have little effect in the long term (you will receive a little less today with the smaller "half", but a little more the next day with the rest of the tablet).
If you want to cut the product, I recommend that you ask your pharmacist for a pill cutter, it is much easier with this device.
I hope I have answered your questions, but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any other questions
