Hello, today I went to the doctor for a big angina. He asked me if I smoked cigarettes, I told him no without mentioning that I was using an electronic cigarette with a high concentration of nicotine. He prescribed me an antibiotic, APO-Clarithromycin XL, 500 mg. Can the use of electronic cigarettes and this antibiotic be dangerous? I take paracetamol and throat lozenges with it. I am allergic to Pollen, but not to certain medications. I have never had any major illnesses and I don't take any other medications on a regular basis. Thank you for your time. Nicolas.

Hi Nicolas,
There is no interaction between nicotine and clarythromycin.
That said, the doctor asked you the question probably because there may be a link between the infection and smoking (in the form of electronic cigarette or not) and between angina and smoking.
So you can take your antibiotics without fear, but keep in mind that the electronic cigarette is not without risk in your situation (considering the angina).

I'm coming back to you because I have a little problem. It turns out that since yesterday I have a little trouble breathing, and it turns out that I don't yawn at all. Could this be related?

The situation you describe is often related to anxiety. If you are not feeling anxious at all and the situation does not improve today, you may want to return to counseling. However, it is possible that the situation you describe is only explained by the presence of stress.
