Can antiphlogistine or Arnica gel be applied in small amounts to a recent fracture of the top of the foot for 1 week to reduce swelling and help healing? Can I continue to take turmeric supplements to help with the strength of the ligaments and tendons around the foot?

Hello,
Although Arnica cream has been studied for many indications (e.g. arthritis, bruises), I have not found any studies on its use in fractures. If the skin is not open, it is safe to use it, but I can't say if it is effective since Arnica has not been studied in this context
As for Antiphlogistine, it is used more for muscle or joint pain and not for fractures. What could help reduce your swelling and associated pain would be the use of an anti-inflammatory pill (Advil) or cream (Voltaren gel). It would be preferable to refer to your pharmacist, who will be able to determine whether you can use these products, based on your health condition. Moreover, more than 72 hours after a fracture, it is preferable to apply heat for about 15 minutes per hour to help repair the tissues. This will be more effective than applying cold which is only used during the first 48-72 hours after a fracture.
Finally, Turmeric can be continued without any problem

Thank you for your good advice, I hadn't thought about the heat. Were there any contraindications with turmeric and anti-inflammatory and anticoagulant drugs? What about aspirin?

Theoretically, turmeric can increase the risk of bleeding when taken concomitantly with blood thinning medications such as Aspirin and blood thinners. Thus, care should be taken when using it. Turmeric may interact with other medications as well
Anti-inflammatory drugs also have several contraindications, including taking blood thinners, for the same reason: increased risk of bleeding. Since I am missing a lot of information about your overall health and medication profile, I recommend that you discuss it with your pharmacist before using it.
