Hi, I am 10 weeks pregnant and I think I have a vaginal infection. Can I use Canesten or Vagisil cream without danger for my baby? Thank you

My symptom is that it itches and heats up. I have had these symptoms before when I was not pregnant and I used canestan or vagisil and it worked fine.

You can use Canesten (clotrimazole) without risk to your baby. Just make sure you do not insert the vaginal applicator too deeply, as it may catch on the cervix. Also, make sure you use the product that allows you to treat for 7 days. The 1-day or 3-day treatment formats are often not sufficient for a pregnant woman.
