The results between the strips and a prick are not the same. Is this normal?

I got myself a "free style" blood glucose meter. It works t.b., but I compare the results with the strips and a prick, and they are not the same. Example this morning 8hrs: free style 5.8, strip 7.4. When do you think? Thank you.

Hello Sir,
This kind of difference is common between two different meters. Generally speaking, if the new meter was set up properly, you should not be overly concerned about these differences.
It will be interesting to see how your glycated hemoglobin, the test that is done every 3 months to know the trend of your blood sugars, will have changed compared to your last blood test.
