Hello, I received a first injection of Prolia and a week later, I had electric shocks in the front of my left groin up to my toes. I would like to know if this is one of the side effects of Prolia, thank you!

It was like a spasm, an electric current that went through my left leg.

Prolia is generally very well tolerated, but according to the product monograph, it sometimes happens (in less than 5% of patients) that some people experience pain like the one you experienced. Although I don't know all your history or your file, it is possible that sciatica (sciatic nerve pain) could explain your symptoms. I recommend that you discuss this with your pharmacist, first to ensure that other causes cannot explain your symptoms, and then to report the effect to the company and to Health Canada.

This will allow us to better document this rare effect so that other patients can have their questions answered if a similar effect occurs.
