For the last 2 weeks, I have had an itching and burning sensation on my vulva. I also have small red spots on my labia majora. I believe that my symptoms are the result of an irritation. What treatment do you recommend?

In order to determine the best treatment for your situation, it is essential to find the cause of the irritation. An allergic type of irritation will be treated differently from what might be described as a mechanical irritation, such as that caused by overly vigorous sexual intercourse.

That being said, do you have any idea where this irritation might be coming from (change in laundry detergent, new type of underwear, changes in sexual practices, etc.)?

Thank you so much, I decided to go to the doctor the day after I asked. I have vaginitis and possibly chlamydia... they gave me a vaginal cream for my infection and antibiotics for the other.
