I have a boo-boo in my breast (breastfeeding), what can I do other than apply the newman cream?

2 weeks after giving birth, I am breastfeeding and I have a big sore on my right breast. The dr newman cream does not help. Is there anything stronger that would help not to ruin my breastfeeding?

Hello, ma'am,
Have you tried lanolin ointment, painkillers?

Yes, and Dr. Newman too

Thanks for the feedback!
The lanolin ointment (Lansinoh or other) or Newman's formula should help at least a little, and it can be applied after each feeding. No need to clean the area or remove the ointment before feeding
Taking an anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin or other brands) if you have no contraindications to taking it (which your pharmacist will be able to confirm with you) can also help relieve the pain.
That being said, if the pain, swelling or redness persists for more than 3 days without improvement or worsens, the problem may be due to another cause, and a medical evaluation is suggested so as not to delay the proper treatment, if any.
I hope I have been helpful and remain available if you have any further questions!
