I need help, I can't stand having so much pain in my uterus

21-year-old woman3 years ago
Hello, I take the contraceptive patch continuously for 3 months because during my period I have an unbearable pain, cramps that give me difficulty to take my breath and I come bending in two! I feel my legs go limp and I have a slight tremor in my hand...I take naproxen and tylenol to soothe the pain but it doesn't change anything...what to do in this case and what could it be? Thank you for your help!

Hello,
If I understand correctly, it is when you remove your patch every 3 months that you suffer like this?
Have you discussed with your doctor the possibility of using the hormonal intrauterine device (IUD)?

Yes it is when I take it out, in fact I take it out every 3 months because when I was menstruating every month the pain was even worse and it didn't matter which method of contraception I used because I tried several

My doctor is very busy and getting an appointment takes several months so I don't know what to do since nothing works

Is there a women's clinic in your area?
Have you considered staying on the patch for more than 3 consecutive months?
Do you take naproxen regularly? As soon as the patch is removed? How often and at what dose?

No there is no women's clinic, I did not consider this option because after 3 months of application I start to have stomach pain...I only take naproxen when I have big stomach pain then it is 500mg but it does not change anything and it does not start with a progressive pain but sudden and very strong

Okay, I understand.
We'll need to make an appointment to reassess contraceptive options.
Start the naproxen when you remove your patch in the morning and evening with food to minimize the risk of irritating your stomach. Do not wait until you are in severe pain. You can put on a new patch even if it has not been 7 days. You could put a new one on after 4 or 5 days without.
I hope this is helpful and wish you a speedy recovery and a good night.
