My baby seems to have an ingrown toenail on his middle finger. What should I do about it?

Hello Ma'am,
The first thing to do is not touch the nail and do not attempt to cut the nail shorter.
An attempt will be made to wait a little while before seeing a doctor or podiatrist (not a pediatrician) if the child does not appear to be affected by the nail, does not have a fever, or if the nail does not have fluid (pus) draining from it.
Normal nail growth could allow the finger to "heal" without us having to do anything.
In the meantime, let that nail grow normally and don't apply any cream to it.
Good day,
Alexandre Chagnon, pharmacist
