7 week old baby with reflux. We give him Prevacid Fastab, but his tummy hurts a lot. What to do?

He is intolerant to bovine proteins, cow's milk products and soy. I would like to point out that I have been on the eviction diet for two months and that everything was fine before taking this medication. My pediatrician refuses to give me a prescription for another medication for reflux.

Good evening ma'am,
If you see that the child is in more pain with the doctor than without, it is probably best to withhold the medication until a solution is found.
That said, there are very few alternatives to FastTabs. Have you ever tried anything else for the baby?

Unfortunately not since his doctor refuses to try anything else. I try to keep him upright as long as possible after his feedings to help with the reflux. Otherwise I have already stopped the Prevacid, his tummy aches have decreased and the stools are starting to be yellow again on the other hand I don't know what to do about the discomfort the reflux creates and unfortunately his pediatrician is not very cooperative. Would he have anything else I can do or give him to help the situation a little or do I absolutely have to go through his pediatrician?

Do you think continuing without reflux medication would be possible?
It's that young patients on these types of medications have been found to be more likely to develop drug allergies, food allergies, and even asthma later on (ref https://pubmed-ncbi-nlm-nih-gov.acces.bibl.ulaval.ca/29610864/). So we need to make sure that the medication induces a noticeable difference in the severity of symptoms.

I was not aware of this study, thank you very much. I don't think it will be possible to continue without medication,my boy seems to suffer from these refluxes. I don't think I would have the choice to change pediatricians.
thank you so much for your answers
have a great day
