The best solution to these symptoms is the use of saline solution to clean the sinuses, with for example Hydrasense, Salinex and others. Using a baby fly afterwards can help prevent the secretions from causing congestion and even coughing as they travel down the throat.

It's a little bit of an uncomfortable technique, but it works great, and can be used as often as needed during the day, and at least 30 minutes before bedtime.

As for the temperature, at this age, the rectal route will give the most accurate temperature, and if it is below 38, it is not considered a fever.
