My baby has had an allergic reaction. What should I do? I'm not sure what the source of his allergies is.

My baby is 6 months old. I breastfeed him and have had to supplement with Good Start since his birth. For the last 10 days or so he has started to eat cereal with formula. I have seen from time to time tiny little spots on his face at random times. I didn't think about the cereal at the time, I was thinking about the teeth. Just now, 5 hours after his cereal, I gave him his bottle and he started to get red patches on his neck and chest. The more he drank the worse it was. The patches disappeared after about 40 minutes. Should I conclude that the milk is the cause? Is there a risk that he will choke on his next bottle? I'm thinking of stopping the cereal until his appointment at the end of August to make sure it's not that, but if it's the formula I'm worried. I don't know if you can help me or if I should consult a doctor quickly.

Hello,
I would try to reintroduce only in a week. 1 allergen at a time
Carry benadryl if a reaction occurs again. Discontinue the product immediately
Hope to see you soon,

Okay, what about his Head Start formula?

You can test as if it were an allergen as well. For now, I would say pump your milk for bottles and try next week. Is the baby cereal oatmeal only?

Would you like to test this and then contact me again?

Hello!
Yes in fact I am having trouble expressing my milk
I had to go to the hospital this morning and they suggested another milk, but he reacted to it. I called my clinic and was told to keep his milk instead, which I did, he reacted even more! I breastfed and he reacted slightly and briefly this time. I gave him a bottle of my milk which I struggled to pump, he reacted again, a little. I finally have a clinic appointment tomorrow morning. I suspect maybe the bovine proteins?
thank you for taking the time to follow up, it's great!

You can always try calling the breastfeeding helpline granny-milk or the lick. There are beef protein avoidance protocols for your own diet.
Do you have an electric or manual breast pump? A manual one might be less efficient. You should also check if the teat is the right size because it can be harmful. I advise you to massage your breasts with your closed fist before starting the breast pump and to apply heat (hot shower or blow dryer) which will also help you to pump
Good continuation
