My baby has yellow/green mucus coming out of the tear duct in his left eye (one eye only). Is this conjunctivitis? What should I do?

His left eye is swollen with redness. He also has secretions in his nose.

Hello Ma'am,
The risk of these symptoms being caused basically by conjunctivitis are less in my opinion than the risk of it being related to the presence of secretions in the nose. Thus, the amount of mucus in the nose must be reduced as much as possible in order to address the problem.
To do this, the best technique in my opinion is the one described in the following document https://www.chusj.org/getmedia/d81f7af6-a93c-4e86-9011-f523e13279a8/depliant_F-886_hygiene-nasale.pdf.aspx?ico=.pdf 👈 and produced by Ste-Justine Hospital. Follow the dosage is the technique described on pages 6 and 7.
If nothing improves in 2 days, you will have to consult a pharmacist directly in the pharmacy.
Happy day,
Alexandre Chagnon, pharmacist
