My 2 month old baby gets red patches on his cheeks when he drinks his bottle. The patches disappear as soon as he finishes drinking.

He has been drinking the same formula since birth. It started 3 days ago. No relief on the plates

Hello,
Without being able to tell you if it's an allergy to milk or an unexplainable punctual reaction, I would simply tell you to watch if the pimples will reappear later and if it coincides again with the feedings. Since the pimples disappear right after feeding, it's not too worrisome at this point. The skin of an infant is still developing and therefore very sensitive, it is possible that this is an adjustment reaction of his body and that it will subside soon.
If the symptoms persist after 2-3 days, it would be better to change milk or to consult your pediatrician to confirm a milk allergy. In case it is an allergy, you should know that a child can develop an allergy to milk at a very young age, but not be allergic after the age of 3
I hope this answers your question. If there is a change in your situation or if you have other information that you think is relevant to pass on, please do not hesitate to contact me again.
Sincerely,
David Tan, pharmacist
