My ovulation test is not clear?

28-year-old woman3 years ago
Hello, I am trying for baby 2. I am doing ovulation tests (Easyhome) as I have cycles of 35/40/sometimes longer. I started testing at D20. My LH level does not exceed 0.78. But the test line became as red as the guide line. At D21 both were almost as red. Considering that I did a hormonal checkup 1 month ago and that everything is fine. Is it normal that my LH peak is only .78? When I had my daughter (bebe1) I did the same tests and my LH was up to 2.5. Now I'm at D24 and I have a lot of pain, pulling in my stomach and headaches, but I'm only going to have my period in 2/3 weeks, is this a late ovulation? Thank you for your help I find it hard to understand my body!

Hello Mrs., thank you for your question!
Ovulation usually occurs 14 days before the first day of your next period. In your case, this means approximately between days 21 and 26 of your cycle when it is 35-40 days old. So it could indeed be that ovulation occurs on day 24, for example.
Ovulation tests are easier to use and interpret when the length of the menstrual cycle is regular and known
It should also be mentioned that the comparison of colors on the test can be subjective.
Given this situation, your best strategy is to have sex every day, or at least every other day, between days 20 and 30 of your cycle
Sorry if this isn't much more accurate, as you say it's hard to know how everyone's body works!

A huge thank you Naji for your answer which helps me to understand! The LH level itself even though it is not higher than .78 but my two lines are also dark. Does that mean that I'm doing well? Thank you!

If you are menstruating, then yes it means that you have ovulated :)
