My baby is 1 month old and since a week ago his reflux symptoms have returned. Do you have any advice?

My baby is now 1 month old and is already intolerant to bovine proteins (takes Neocate) and takes prevacid for reflux. Since one week the symptoms have come back, big crying fit, reflux in spurts, baby crying and throwing himself backwards during his feeding... does the nexium have different effects than the prevacid? I don't know what to do to get him to start drinking again and not be in pain.

Good evening ma'am,
The data that we have right now does not necessarily indicate a different effect of Nexium compared to Prevacid™ in young children. We can still try to change the medication in cases where we see that one or the other really doesn't seem to be working, but it's pretty limited in terms of effectiveness when we make that change.

Thank you!
In such a case, I recommend that you reconsult your doctor if the Prevacid™ does not seem to be working. Especially since this treatment should be reviewed frequently, as it has been identified that taking it can increase the risk of allergies in children later on, when taken before the age of 6 months especially. In short, we need to be sure that it really helps the child!
Happy day,
Alexander
