Do you have a suggestion of products that might have the same effect? Thank you very much for your time.

Hello, I have a question about vaginal secretions following penetrative sex. After my intercourse, I always have brownish secretions. It's as if my discharge is stained with blood. It doesn't sting or smell. In the past, I had this type of bleeding for 2 months. I saw a doctor and he prescribed naproxen, but it didn't help. So I started taking the Canesten Balance gels, I figured it was probably my pH that was affected. After only one night with this product, my brownish discharge disappeared. Then, moving forward in time to recently, I had the same problem. After a week of "bleeding", I used this product again and it went away. However, there is an indication not to use this product for more than 7 consecutive days. My question is, considering that I am sexually active and that I end up with a brownish discharge every time I have sex, it becomes annoying to always take the canesten gel to be inserted in the vagina every night.

Hello!
Canestin Balance contains lactic acid which, in theory, could help treat bacterial vaginosis. However, from what you describe, vaginosis does not seem to be the problem. If this were the case, you would have noticed the presence of a possible fishy odor.
The reason why Canestin Balance helps with bleeding is therefore rather vague. Perhaps it is the small moisturizing effect of the product that makes the skin more supple, and therefore less likely to crack and bleed?
In any case, when recurrent vaginal bleeding is noticed with every relationship, it is always a good idea to be evaluated by a doctor. Most likely there is no serious reason for the bleeding, but it is still a symptom worth investigating.

Okay, I understand, would it be appropriate to try a Replens-type vaginal lubricant?

This would indeed be an option that could be tried and would be the most appropriate at first glance! However, as mentioned, an investigation by a physician could possibly be appropriate for safety's sake.
