Can an 87-year-old woman take probiotics with her medication?

An 87 year old lady, she has intestinal problems whenever she eats. The scan did not give anything. The camera didn't help either... We don't know how to help her anymore. She feeds herself with food. Green vegetables, tomato sauces and milk seem to be a problem.

She is already taking
  • Teva Sucralfate 1g 2x a day
  • Pro Cal 500mg 1x a day with her first snack.
  • Dexilant 60 mg 1x a day.
We brought her Probaclac 50+ (7 strains, 8 billion)
In fact, she can no longer eat any vegetable except Boston salad and boiled escarole
She says it's colitis... her doctor said diverticulitis but he doesn't push it or give any indication
She is an Italian who ate a lot of pasta, bread etc. She lives in little Italy, she walks a lot. She received the 3 doses of Pfizer vaccine
She has been suffering for 6-8 weeks..
Thank you! 🙏

Hello, thank you for your question!
Probiotics have shown little benefit for these symptoms. That being said, she can try them without expecting miracles. Keep in mind that some people may develop diarrhea with probiotics so they should be discontinued if this occurs.
What I can suggest is to keep a diary of what she eats to understand the occurrence and extent of her symptoms, to perhaps identify foods to avoid...
I hope I have been helpful to you, please feel free to ask any other questions you may have
