No, taking Aspirin does not reduce the small risk of thrombosis with the Astra Zeneca vaccine. We realized that the cases of thrombosis after the vaccine were in fact a kind of immune reaction. So the immune system in some people was overreacting and promoting the activation of platelets in our body which promotes clotting. Since Aspirin does not affect the immune system, the drug will not have an impact.
This mechanism is quite different from a person who develops a clot and has a stroke, heart attack or thrombosis unrelated to vaccines. That's why Aspirin can be used in these situations.
