Basic hygiene is usually sufficient: wash with water and mild soap while avoiding rubbing too vigorously to dry the area. Ideally avoid intercourse or masturbation too vigorously to give the area a chance to heal

If there is a lot of rubbing, you can try covering it with a bandage.
