Can I stop it and resume the maalox during the day tomorrow since it improves my situation more?

I have had severe stomach pain for several weeks. Yesterday the doctor prescribed me maalox and said that it was much better. Today I had a gastronomy and I received a prescription of librax given by the nurse without explanation. I started it today but I don't feel well with it.

Thank you for your question, I'm sorry to read about your troubles! You mention that you did not receive any explanations, would it be possible to know what the pharmacist explained to you, for example what to expect, possible side effects, duration of treatment or other?

She wasn't sure either. I don't have a specific treatment time. Only one tablet twice a day for 3 days and then 3 times a day. But it was much better with the maalox. I tried the prescribed medication but I don't feel well on it and it stings everywhere. I would like to go back to the maalox to see if I could take it again tomorrow or if it would be too soon (no interaction with the librax that could stay in the body)

Thanks for the feedback!
I am a bit surprised by your pharmacist's answer, who could have suggested to contact the prescriber in case of doubt...
That being said, if you find Librax intolerable, I suggest contacting your pharmacist who can suggest a lower dose (or fewer doses per day) or contact the prescriber to suggest possible alternatives
If Maalox has relieved your symptoms satisfactorily, I see no problem with continuing it, but if it persists, you will need to see your doctor again to reassess your needs and try to find the cause.
You do not need to wait before taking Maalox, there are no interactions with Librax.

She probably didn't call because it was the surgeon who prescribed it. Since he didn't come back to see me after the exam and had the nurse give me the prescription, I thought it was special but hey!
Thank you for your answer!
