My 2 year old has had a cough for 3 weeks but at times she doesn't cough all the time, she grumbles and has a hacking cough so you can hear the secretions. She coughs especially at night and in the morning. Apart from the sinus, how long should we consult? How long can a wet cough last?

Hello, thank you for your question!
First of all, would you be able to identify the cause of the cough? Is it a past cold, or allergies?

No allergies and didn't really have a cold

Thank you for the clarification. I ask because quite often the cough is as a result of the nose running out of the back into the throat, especially when the person is horizontal, for example at night at bedtime
In such a case, I would opt for nasal hygiene with a saline solution (Hydrasense, Sinus Rinse, Salinex and others), which can be done as often as necessary during the day, and at least 30 minutes before bedtime. By 'cleaning' the nasal secretions, we can reduce their backward flow, which often causes coughing.
I think it would be worth a try. I hope I've been of some help to you, and if there's anything I can do to help, please let me know
