Hello,
Unfortunately, in addition to eradicating the bacteria responsible for your infection, antibiotics also attack the good bacteria in your intestinal flora, which frequently causes diarrhea
To counter this, you can take probiotics containing strains of good bacteria that have been shown to maintain a healthy microbiota while taking antibiotics
For example, you can turn to the refrigerated Bio-K+ strong capsules and take 1 capsule twice a day at least 2 hours away from your antibiotic in order to avoid their destruction by the latter. It is important to continue taking the probiotics until 5 to 7 days after the end of your antibiotics
Also, be aware that studies show that probiotics are more effective when taken at the beginning of an antibiotic treatment, as a preventive measure, before diarrhea occurs. Therefore, if you are sensitive to this undesirable effect, I advise you to take probiotics to prevent diarrhea during your future antibiotic treatments
If, despite this advice, the diarrhea does not go away and you do not regain your usual transit, I suggest that you consult your family doctor
Hope to see you soon!
