For an 8 year old with strep who hates liquid or chewable antibiotics. She is able to swallow tablets. The doctor prescribed liquid Amoxil despite my request for tablets.

Hello,
Amoxicillin is our first choice for strep throat because it is very effective. This medication is available as chewable tablets or capsules. The capsules are quite large, but they can be opened and the contents sprinkled in food.
Therefore, I recommend that you go back to the pharmacy that served your child's antibiotic. Depending on the dose your child needs to take, the pharmacist will be able to convert the doctor's dose into either tablets or capsules.

Streptococcus in the throat indeed

Depending on your child's weight, it reaches the usual adult dose of 500mg twice a day. Thus, this corresponds to 2 chewable tablets of 250mg or 1 capsule of 500mg
If these options are not possible, the antibiotic could be changed to penicillin, but the pharmacist would have to contact the doctor
This way, I would go back to the pharmacist and tell them that your child is unable to take the antibiotic and discuss alternatives.
I look forward to hearing from you,
