I am 68 years old and was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 3 years ago. My neurologist prescribed Copaxone injections 3 times/week.

Hello ma'am =)
Multiple sclerosis is a disease that can take many forms (four in fact) which can affect the severity or symptoms a bit. However, regardless of the form the immune system is affected and even that is mostly your medication, Copaxone that can affect the immune system. No matter what the treatment is (there are a few different medications), the immune system is going to be affected - such is the nature of treatment to palliate the disease.
However, there are ways to help the immune system or rather, to maximize its effectiveness. These are, in fact, the same for all people whether they have multiple sclerosis or not. First of all, we must make sure that our vaccinations are up to date. Then, a healthy diet, good sleep and a little exercise are all things that contribute to a healthy immune system! In short, there is nothing miraculous about it. That's why we need to follow the signs of an infection and act quickly when there are worrisome symptoms (ex: fever, unusual fatigue, cough, etc.)
By maintaining healthy lifestyle habits we can manage to maximize the efficiency of our immune system. There are some studies on the use of zinc for the prevention of influenza for example but nothing super conclusive. If this is the kind of specific information you are looking for I would be happy to go into more detail =)
In the meantime I would encourage you to visit the Outaouais Multiple Sclerosis Association website (https://scleroseenplaques.ca/section/outaouais). They have a lot of information and organize interesting activities. They also have a Facebook page.
Hopefully this answers your question.
Happy day ma'am =)
