I have had a very sore throat since Tuesday night, but I don't have a stuffy or runny nose. I don't have a cough either. I had a fever on Wednesday and Thursday. Since this morning it's a little better with motrin. If it is a strep throat, can it be cured by itself without antibiotics?

I am reassured that you are reporting relief with Motrin, I suggest you continue with it if it is well tolerated and you have no contraindications to taking it, which your pharmacist will confirm with you.
I encourage you to drink plenty of fluids, cold or hot, as you prefer.
Such a throat irritation can indeed heal by itself in the vast majority of healthy people. I suggest that you monitor the situation and consult a doctor if it persists for more than 7 days without improvement.
