My son started amoxiline last night for an ear infection. Is it normal that his urine smells like medicine? He wets his diapers as usual and the color is the same, but there is a very strong smell of medicine. Thank you

Hello, to my knowledge, amoxicillin does not change the smell of urine. I wouldn't worry about this effect if that's the only inconvenience you see. Amoxil is eliminated primarily through the kidneys. This may be the reason why you smell the medication... If any other effects occur during treatment, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you!
