Is there such a thing as a cold allergy? When I go outside (in winter), the skin on my neck and face swells.

Indeed, my skin swells and makes small buttons which itch. I made a test with an ice cube which I applied to my forearm and after only 5 minutes I had swelling/bumps/itching

Hello Ma'am,
Actually, it is possible to have a reaction to the cold. This is called hives. In order to prevent these reactions, it is best to avoid the cold if possible and to cover yourself as best as you can when you go outside with a scarf, gloves, and even your face if you stay outside for a long time. Taking antihistamines would also be beneficial to reduce the allergic reaction. You can consult your community pharmacist to suggest an adequate and safe treatment with your medication/health condition, but it would also be preferable to consult your doctor for a more effective treatment and an evaluation of the condition to establish the diagnosis. It would also be safer to get an Epipen (adrenaline auto-injector), especially if the symptoms are in the throat and affect your breathing. The pharmacist and your doctor can prescribe the Epipen.
I hope I have helped you.
