Should I go for a consultation or is it better to wait given the viruses that are going around lately?

Hello, my 2 and a half year old daughter is teething (last molar up). She has had a temperature since Sunday (38.9). Yesterday and today she is at 38.2. She is drinking well, but eating almost nothing. She has a wet cough and her breathing is wheezy (as if she had a lot of secretion). I give her tylenol, but she is primed when the tylenol stops working. She has a runny nose and coughs too. Covid test negative.

Hello Mrs.,
The best treatment for the symptoms you describe isnasal hygiene with a saline solution (Hydrasense, Sinus Rinse and others), which can be done as often as necessary during the day, and at least 30 minutes before bedtime, followed by suctioning the secretions with a baby fly. By 'cleaning' the nasal secretions, we can reduce their backward flow, which often causes coughing. It's a little uncomfortable but it works wonders!
I also encourage you to encourage your child to drink, even if it means giving smaller amounts more often. A decreased appetite during an episode of illness is common.
If the fever persists for 72 hours, if her condition deteriorates, if she stops eating or if her symptoms persist for more than 7 days without improvement, you should consult a doctor.
I hope I've been helpful, I'm still available if you have any other questions!
