My 1 month old baby seems uncomfortable unless he is at the breast?

34-year-old woman2 years ago
Hello ! My 1 month old exclusively breastfed baby is squirming, moaning and forcing all night. It can last for 5 minute intervals until the next feeding. This of course interferes with his sleep and mine... Also, during the day, his waking periods are rarely pleasant. He always seems uncomfortable and tries to fall asleep at the breast.

Good morning, ma'am,
While this may seem like an unpleasant situation, it doesn't necessarily indicate a problem. In fact, your newborn must basically learn to digest on his own and this is not without its difficulties.
Is he wetting and soiling his diaper? Is he or she gaining weight?
If you answered yes to these questions, that's the most important thing.
I hope this has been helpful to you and I am available if you have any further questions
