I'm going to Mexico with my baby who will be 12 months old exactly the day we leave for Mexico. He will not have had his 1 year vaccines yet.
I would like him to be as protected as possible. Are there any vaccines I should give him?

Hello Mrs
The vaccines of the regular calendar (at 12 months) are recommended, in addition to the one against the flu, COVID.
The hepatitis A vaccine is also recommended (it is later in the calendar for Qc but is recommended for Mexico).
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist

Hello, thank you very much for your answer. I was told that I could not give him the "regular" vaccines before he is 1 year old and he will be 1 year old the day of departure. Did I get the wrong information and is it possible to give him the vaccines before? Also for hepatitis A can I go to a pharmacy or do I have to go to a travel clinic?

I got the same information from a nurse. She will be able to vaccinate, but will not be able to record the vaccines in her file because she must follow the recommendations.
Pharmacists who vaccinate cannot vaccinate a child of this age. You will have to find out if there is a nurse on site who can do it, or ask at a travel clinic, CLSC or other.
